Barristers Shadowing Program
The Monash LSS Barrister Shadowing Program gives Monash law students with an interest in pursuing a career at the bar a chance to experience the working life of a barrister.
At the beginning of semester two, you will be paired with a barrister practicing in an area that's of interest to you. After that, it's up to you and your barrister to decide how often you work alongside him or her, and the nature of the work that you do.
In the past, students have assisted with research, drafted memoranda of argument, attended meetings and observed court proceedings as part of their experience.
If you are interested in a career at the bar, this is a rare opportunity to gain an insight into the work that barristers do, and what the future may hold for you.
