Barristers Shadowing Program
The Monash LSS Shadowing Program provides an opportunity for Monash law students to gain an insight into a career at the Bar.
The program gives students a chance to see the inner workings of a barrister's work life and aims to give students a more in depth view of a particular area of law in a practical context. Students nominate areas of law that are of particular interest to them and are then paired with a barrister practicing in one of those areas to complete one week of shadowing during the midyear break. Ultimately the experience will depend on the student and barrister involved but the in past students have assisted with research, drafted memoranda of argument, attended meetings and observed court proceedings as part of their experience.
