Mental Health Awareness
The Monash Law Students’ Society recognises that mental illness is a significant issue for law students. Studies consistently show strong links between the study and practice of law and high incidences of depression, stress and other mental illnesses. Given these alarming findings, the Monash Law Students’ Society is committed to addressing these issues and raising awareness for this important cause. Mental heal is a very difficult issues that is often hidden.
The Monash Law Students’ Society is committed to de-stigmatising mental health through annual mental health awareness events, fundraisers and provision of mental health resources to students throughout the year, particularly during the exam period.
Mental Health in Law School Report
As part of the Monash Law Students’ Society’s commitment to mental health awareness, members of the Just Leadership Program published a report to the Monash Faculty of Law to assist it in revising the initiatives and adopting new measures to improve the mental health and well being of law students.

The Tristan Jepson Memorial Foundation
The Monash Law Students' Society is a proud supporter of the Tristan Jepson Memorial Foundation (TJMF), which since 2008, has strived to create greater awareness of depression and anxiety amongst the legal fraternity and decrease the levels of distress, disability, anxiety and the causes of depression in the legal profession.
