The Student Tutorial Program is a free service offered to all registered members of the Monash Law Students' Society. The Program includes bi-weekly tutorials for each compulsory and quasi-compulsory unit. Tutorials are lead by paid students who have previously excelled in one of these units and are designed to be used as an addition to faculty teaching services.

Tutorials include an overview of the key principles, cases and elements relating to the topics covered within a particular unit. Tutors facilitate and direct group discussion on an original problem question that is provided at the start of each session.

The Student Tutorial Program provides a pressure-free, social apparatus for students to reinforce faculty teaching and consolidate general skills (i.e. issue spotting, reasoning) that are required throughout their time at Law School. 'The Student Tutorial Program will commence in Week Four (Monday 22 March) and continue until Week Twelve.'. Please see below for scheduling information. Additional Policy or Revision Seminars will be offered for some units in Week 13.

Tutorial Notes

In 2010, the Monash Law Students’ Society will be offering Sketch Notes. These notes are not intended to be a comprehensive revision of unit content; the Society will no longer be distributing full sets of notes to members through our website. The Sketch Notes provide an overview of faculty teaching and are a good skeleton from which students can make their own, more comprehensive notes in preparation for final assessments. Sketch Notes will be available from Wednesday 25 March.

A full-list of the tutorial times and locations are available to download (click here). This will also be made available on the noticeboard outside the Society’s Office (Basement Level, Building 12 – Near Legibook) and on the Facebook Fan/Group Page. Make sure you have bought a key ring and registered your membership before turning up!
