1. 'BRINGING VIOLENCE OUT OF THE DARK: A TWILIGHT EVENING FOR THE ERADICATION OF HUMAN RIGHTS ABUSES.' - THIS TUESDAY!

Time: 5.30 p.m.- 8.30 p.m.

The Social Justice and Equity Team is pleased to present 'Bringing Violence Out of the Dark: A twilight evening for to the eradication of human
rights abuses. Come along to the Airport Lounge (Campus Centre) this Tuesday the 18th of May at 5.30pm to hear the personal narratives of those
who have been affected by these human rights abuses. There will be presentations from Child Wise and Manita Ray (Asylum Seeker Resource Centre).
There will also be live performances by the New Romans, the Rock and Roll Space Bandits, Creatures of Karma and Danny Robert Baksh and Friends,
making it an evening of fun entertainment. And entry is FREE! We will also be selling ‘welcome packs’ for just $5, which will contain information on
what can be done to help asylum seekers, food vouchers for the night and a host of other surprise goodies (The Body Shop freebies, Cadbury chocolate)!
Proceeds from these welcome packs will go towards Child Wise. In addition to this, there will be international food dishes catered by the Asylum Seeker
Resource Centre and, of course, a good old-fashioned BBQ.
Come down after classes on Tuesday to show your support!

What does it mean to be a 'just leader'? How do leaders from government departments, corporate law firms and grass-roots organisations
promote social justice?
This exciting new initiative is brought to you by the LSS Social Justice and Equity Portfolio and will run for the duration of Semester Two. A program
for law students in any year, this will give you invaluable experience and knowledge, provide you with key contacts in positions of leadership and gain
useful skills in the drafting of policy. Applications are now open, and will close on Friday the 21th of May at 5pm. Please see www.monashlss.com for
