A central focus of the portfolio is ensuring that students who face special barriers due to their background or circumstances are supported. As well as running events and programs for women and queer-identifying students, we also seek to support those facing financial hardship by offering the following grants for eligible students.
Textbook Equity Grants
The Monash LSS, in partnership with the Monash Bookstore and the Faculty of Law, offers textbook grants to students who need financial assistance to purchase law textbooks. Applicants are considered on merit. Grants are given to successful applications in the form of credit to be spent at the Bookstore, which can also be used to purchase textbooks online. The Bookstore offers free delivery to Monash Chambers, and postage charges may apply for alternative delivery locations.

The semester two grants close Tuesday 18th June at 10pm.
Law Camp Grants
New in 2019, we will be offering grants to eligible students to help fund their attendance at the annual Law Camp, held for first year students. Camp is incredibly important to help ease the transition from school to university, and is fundamental in helping to form the friendships that stick with students throughout their entire degrees and beyond. Applications will be restricted to first year students attending camp, assessed on merit. Applications will open in early January, 2019.
